Michael James Battle has lived his life behind a piano. Battle has been playing the piano for pleasure, competitions and audience enjoyment. He started taking piano lessons as a nine-year-old, starting with the basics and moving into more complex music out of standard teaching books. Battle took lessons with a local teacher and, after two years of practice, he was accepted into the Academy of Music, now known as the Academy of Performing and Creative Arts in Clinton under the instruction of Jovita Bernard-Copeland.
